Always on my mind…

Apparently I have the race on the brain, and no matter what I do I am reminded of it.

Just now I was reading “The Sleeping Beauty Proposal” (don’t judge)

And I come across a page saying… (yes of course I took a photo!)

… “he was wearing (a cool runnings t-shirt)” and “that mornings Boston Globe”… and now I am thinking to myself … do we have Cool Runnings officially signed on to do the race yet? And did I get us listed in the Boston Globe yet? haha oh man.

Luckily we have a great team helping to pull this all together and keep me sane!

Can’t wait until November!

Just a little preview of the gorgeous view at Castle Island. I had never seen it before this year (yes I have been living in Boston for 6 years) and I fell in love. Not only is there a beach and a cute little bay that we will be huffing and puffing around, but there is a great old fort there called Fort Independence. I am not sure if it’s ever seen a battle, but it is beautiful just the same. Great spot for music and bbq’s and such!

Securing a Location…

In the process of securing a location. I originally wanted to have the race run on the Esplanade along the Charles River which is absolutely BEAUTIFUL! It is the part that looks like a little Island as well as the lush green land hugging the shore.

Now that I got you all excited about that I can tell you it’s not going to happen. The city wants it to be a music venue, so unfortunately no new races are allowed to be held there.

So on to my second choice… Castle Island in South Boston!

The area houses and old fort and also has a small bay area (not shown in this picture) that can be run around. When we went to scope out the location - EVEN IN THE POURING RAIN, people were still running, walking dogs, having bbq’s and even fishing. It’s just that great a place apparently!

Wish us luck as we try to secure a spot - and if you have any suggestions of locations in the Boston area feel free to leave a comment.
